Question:
Do all clients have to have the same version of MusicMaster?
Answer:
Basically it is ideal if all MusicMaster clients have the same version. However, it can make sense that a client tests a new version first or that a different version is installed on a deliver.media client. The following is possible
Version.Subversion.Release
for example MusicMaster Pro 8.0.7
Possible:
- Different releases for example 7.0.1. 7.0.9 and 7.0.11 or 6SR8 and 6SR9
Not possible:
- Different versions 7.0.1 to 7.1.0 or 6.9 and 7.0.11
Question::
How do I need to proceed with the update?
Answer (Step-by-Step-Guide):
- Download the latest version
- Make sure that current version is also available (if downgrade is necessary)
- Logging out all users (even on other machines) from the same database
- Option: If on the machine a deliver.media engine or a MusicMaster Plus server is running this application must be stopped.
- Back-up the database
- Run the installation file e.g. MMWinSetup7011.exe (requires admin rights).
- Accept all settings as suggested (Next -> .... Next)
- Reboot only if it is ensured that the machine can actually be booted (normally a reboot is not necessary).
- After the update, open the MusicMaster database and test it
- Option: If one or more deliver.media engines are running on the computer or a MusicMaster Plus server is installed, it must be restarted.
