How can I restore a MusicMaster database?
Answer
There are several ways to restore a MusicMaster database. The prerequisite for this is that the corresponding variant is activated or that a backup has been made.

Variant 1: Restore a MusicMaster backup
Prerequisite:
A current or desired backup is available, which can be restored by means of a Backup made in the MusicMaster with "Backup".
Step-by-step instructions
- Backup current data externally (without overwriting the current backup).
- Open affected database in MusicMaster
- Select Restore Backup via Extras
- Select Restore
Variant 2: Restore from a .bak file
Prerequisite:
A purge has been made and the automatic backup from the last purge is present.
Step-by-step instructions
- Close MusicMaster
- Backup current data externally (using .zip without overwriting the current backup)
- Localize current MusicMaster database e.g. Sample.mmd.
- Rename Sample.mmd to Sample.old.
- Rename Sample.bak to Sample.mmd.
- Open MusicMaster and open the sample database
Variant 3: Restore through a Windows data backup.
Prerequisite:
A Windows backup has been made or shadow copies have been enabled.
Step-by-step instructions
- Back up MusicMaster database and close MusicMaster
- Restore the database using instructions according to Microsoft.
Variant 4: Restore with own backup
Prerequisite:
There is an active own backup available such as Veritasbackup or Veeam etc.
Step-by-step instructions
- Back up MusicMaster database and close MusicMaster
- Restore according to manufacturer's instructions
